After visiting the BMW Welt in Munich, I knew I had to take a peak at the Audi Factory in Ingolstadt, Germany.
The Audi Museum is not as easily accessible as the BMW one. The later was not far from Munich’s center and a quick subway ride got us there. To find our way to the Audi Forum, we had to inquire our route at the train station. They were very helpful and gave us a day plan on how to get there as well as how to get to Frankfurt after the visit (since that was our next destination). So we took the train, left our luggage in a locker at the train station, and we hoped on a bus and got there within 5-10 minutes.
We took the tour in the museum. It was multi-floored and featured mostly their earlier models. Comparing to the BMW Museum, it wasn’t as impressive and interesting. Getting a tour of the Audi factory plant was much trouble-free than at BMW, no need to make prior reservations since the place is located far from a big city. After taking the tour, I must say it was much more captivating than at BMW’s. We were walking in the same level as the machinery and were able to get up close to the production areas.
If you ever in the area, put about a half a day on the side to visit the Audi Forum. It’s a great place to visit and you will learn much of the history and creation of one of Germany’s finest cars.
